Personality::
Upon first meeting Chase, he can seem like a very quiet and independent person. Though he likes meeting new people, he is never the one to really instigate the initial greeting. He also does not talk much or reveal a lot about himself until he has known someone for a while. However, once Chase becomes a friend, he is willing to talk about anything and everything. But with mentioning this, Chase is not the one to talk someone’s ear off or annoy them by rambling on and on. He pays careful attention to everything he says and always notes the tone and facial expressions of whoever he’s conversing with. If he feels that they are getting bored, uneasy, etc, he will quickly wrap up the conversation. Aside from just talking, Chase is also an extremely honest and trustworthy person. He will never tell a secret, and he will always be there for whoever needs him.Likes:: tigers and other animals; being a shifter; sports; relaxing and having fun; doing his best; competing; eating; meeting new people
However, when Chase gets into “competition” mode, his demeanor can often change. He loves to compete in everything, and devotes his body and mind to winning. He can get rather brutal, especially in certain sports, and is ruthless…but still manages to display good sportsmanship. Chase is very good in almost everything he does, but will not get upset if he does not make the number one spot. If Chase faces a more important challenge in his life, he will face it head on, and do his best to succeed. Failure in cases such as these causes a greater burden for Chase compared to failure in sports and games.

Introduction::
He was modest, but the type who was good at everything. Chase attended private school all of his life, and had learned through the years how to be a model student, and how to achieve the goals that he set out for himself. Sports were most of his life - his athletic build along with a small student body allowed him to play a variety, from soccer to football, basketball to baseball - he did it all. He was a "Tiger" at heart, always wearing the proud, school-spirited stripes on every uniform that ever graced his body. Not to mention, he excelled in class, and had a close knit group of friends. As for girls, well...he had those who were always on his tail, and he had those whom he had grown up with...but he never took on a girlfriend. He didn't have the time, nor the desire at this point in life. He was focusing on school, on getting scholarships so that he could make it into college. It was all going smoothly at this point, nothing could get in Chase's way.Animal Shift::
But like all of the people that eventually wind up at the Variel Academy, something went terribly wrong somewhere down the line. He had heard his mom talking on the phone one day, to one of her friends he supposed. The conversation at hand was a strange one, and Chase listened from around the corner.
"I know Denise! Did you hear about the one that was only five? And then I've heard of others around nineteen recently. Goodness, how strange indeed, what could have caused such awful things to happen to those children?....Oh goodness I don't know either, it would be like having a monster living with you...bears and lions, even poisonous snakes...how could someone live a life taking care of a child like that?.....I agree, I agree, I don't think I could bare it, I'd turn them in as well if I knew one, it seems the best for them, and its probably a good thing to get them out of society, to get them away from people that they might harm."
At that point, Chase turned around, and quietly made his way back into his room. With a furrowed brow, he sat down at his desk, staring blankly at his computer screen. What on earth was that all about? Lions? Children? Send them away? Something was happening, something that riled his mother's feathers...but what? Were they just gossiping like women usually do, or was this something bigger? At that point, Chase's callused fingers glided his computer mouse gently over the desk, and he clicked on the recent news icon. The screen brought up several results, and after clicking on the first three or four, Chase was in awe. It had to be something made up, science fiction...this couldn't be real. How silly, that his mother would react this way over a joke. He let out a chuckle, then clicked the little red X on his browser window.
It was a week later, and Chase had completely forgotten the strange conversation his mother had had on the phone, and the silly information he had encountered online. He had stayed after school, working on various things from homework to training. Now, it was dark, and he stepped lightly onto the lit-up running track. There was no one around this night, probably because they were all off campus watching the baseball game - which Chase was missing due to a slight arm injury. But, it was a nice night, and quite relaxing, with only the random chirps of crickets hidden within the grass. And so he started, foot followed by foot, his heel hitting the black pavement, followed by his toe. Heel, toe, heel, toe...deep breath in through the nose, quicker breath out through the mouth...in, out, in, out. He closed his eyes, feeling each muscle in his legs contract and expand as he ran - the burn felt good, it relieved all of the stress that was built up within him, and he was able to forget about everything else, and just concentrate on running.
He had been running for a while - his eyes closed the whole way. He knew the track by heart, how far to reach and how many steps until he had to turn. However, when he rounded the final turn of his run, a strange sensation suddenly took over his body. It was...easier to run, and he was running much faster than before. Chase opened his eyes, and looked around. Nothing seemed strange at first, but then he realized...he was lower to the ground than normal. What on earth was going on? Then, Chase looked at himself - his hands, they were no longer hands but giant, orange paws. He stopped dead in his path, digging sharp, dagger-like claws into the ground. No, this couldn't be happening, it wasn't real...there was no way that a human could suddenly transform into an animal.
But it was true, and Chase was yet another victim of this strange happening. Instantly, his mind went back to the conversation his mother had, "...I agree, I don't think I could bare it, I'd turn them in as well if I knew one, it seems the best for them, and its probably a good thing to get them out of society..." At this memory, tears welled up within Chase's eyes, just as he realized that he had unknowingly transformed back into his teenage body. He once more glanced at his hands, now the pale, rugged hands that he was used to. But now, he knew - those stories of humans turning into animals were really true, and he could not stand to see his mother suffer, or make her feel horrible about bringing such a 'monster' into this world.
The next morning, the house was silent. Chase's parents were used to him coming in late at night and sleeping in all morning. But today was different, it seemed...empty, too empty.
Instead of Chase being sound asleep in his bed, a sheet of white paper was stuck to the refrigerator.
He had come home the night before, and quickly packed a single bag. He grabbed the stash of money he had been saving for ages and crammed it into his wallet. At that point, he ripped a sheet of paper out of one of his school journals, and quickly wrote down what had happened to him. He told his mother what he had heard her say during her phone call, as well as the fact that he did not want to be a burden. He told both of his parents that he would be fine, and he would take care of himself - and that he loved them. He could not bring himself to tell them goodbye in person. He knew that they would fight it, he knew that they would tell him not to leave, but he had to. He was not going to ignore the problem...he was going to fix it, no matter what that meant.
Chase didn't know how he finally wound up at the Variel Academy, nor how long he had been gone from home. He simply woke up one day in a dorm room. The stuff he had packed was all arranged neatly, and new things were also set in place for him, allowing him to feel comfortable and 'at home'.
Over the next few weeks, Chase worked hard to adjust to his new life. He would work every day on shifting and controlling himself, and in all actuality, he was not that upset about becoming a shifter. It was simply another challenge in life, another aspect that he had to conquer to make himself stronger. He welcomed it with opened arms, and looked forward to dealing with whatever his shifter life had to bring.
Chase shifts into one of the mightiest animals of all, a Bengal Tiger. While the Bengal is small in relation to the Siberian Tiger, Chase’s shift leans more towards the size of the latter. At the shoulders, he is about 42 inches tall, and weighs in at approximately 700 pounds. His body is made of pure muscle covered by only a small amount of insulating fat, much like his human form. Chase’s pelt is a vibrant orange coloration, typical of the Bengal, with deep ebony stripes running down his entire body. Almost the full bottom half of his body is covered in a thick, white fur, blending gently into the orange as you ascend his sides. The white also creeps over his face, covering his cheeks, the front part of his muzzle, and even spots along his brows.Make sure you read the rules![/font][/b]:
Chase’s tiger form has roughly the same personality of his human form. He is extremely kind - a gentle giant, to say the least - and is always looking out for other people. However, he is a bit more open as a tiger, and will actually approach others no matter what form they are in. Chase is still just as competitive in his shift, but he understands his size and strength, and will enforce a handicap upon himself depending on who he is up against. As far as actual fighting goes, well…Chase usually tends to stay out of messes such as those. However, Chase is a tiger, and there wouldn’t be much anyway that would be able to take on a tiger and walk away the winner.
