Is there a tomorrow, for a person who doesn't want to look to the future?
It was that time of year again, where the mornings were freezing, and the afternoons were nice. If anything she loved the mornings in spring, her fox nature always waking her up in the crack of dawn. Though, most of the time she'd just fall back asleep after a few minutes of walking around the dorm room. Ivy was sitting on the beach's slopped hill, the sand digging into her bare toes. She let out a sigh, the morning not awake yet, being as it was that moment before the sun rose.
The hoodie she wore was warm, and she didn't think it would've been necessary to wear. I mean, it was warm enough in front of the dorm rooms, it couldn't be colder down at the beach, right? Wrong. It was practically freezing to her, though Oregon was like this, it wasn't entirely this cold in the spring. It was just nice pleasant breezes of ocean air, the forest scent wafting in between the fresh air and ocean breeze.
In the end, Ivy was glad she had brought it. It would've been bad for her to have left it behind, especially if she had to go back and panther girl Az was awake. Giving a brief roll of her eyes, she leaned back on her palms. The sand separated under her palm's weight, and she let her legs spread out before her.
Icy air filled her lungs, the sound of waves hitting the beach was so alluring. It made her look out at the sea in longing, 'to morph into a seal would be so much better than a silly fox...' She thought, her gaze travelling over the sea before looking up at the sky. So far, she hadn't met any other canine shifters. She could have very well been the only fox in school for all she knew.
To add to her own increasing sorrow, all the people she saw had a girlfriend or boyfriend. She was pretty much out of the loop... Again. Her heart felt empty, and it hurt with every ba-thump it made. The vixen felt so small here, the sandy beach was so large, and she was just like an ant. The waves getting closer to her feet symbolizing the uncountable dangers an ant would have to face every day.
Shaking the thoughts away, Ivy looked back across the beach. Loneliness was the only emotion in her heart, save for sadness and a tinge of depression. You get my point though, she was pretty much bummed out and tired. It wasn't exactly a good set of emotions to be dealing with.
