Personality::
Tristan is a girl, but she seems a lot more like a shy boy, mostly because she dresses in loose clothes with bulky sweaters and the like. She is extremely socially inept, unable to get over her shyness to talk to anyone of her own accord, and anyone so far who has talked to her thought she was weird because she didn't respond back, mostly because she didn't know what to say.Likes:: Reading, English class, Snow, Being mistaken for a boy\Boys, Dressing as girly as possible, Making friends, Attention
Tristan constantly curses her shyness, but the fact that she turns into a mouse is the nail in the coffin for her. She wants nobody, absolutely nobody to know, so she mostly pretends she can't. She feels that if they knew, they'd laugh at her more than they already do. Her shift is also the basis of a traumatic experience, which makes her hate it.
She has a bit of a persecution complex, often thinking that people are blaming her for things that are not her fault, although she is too submissive to do anything about it anyway. She tries as hard as she can to avoid notice, and as such, she has gone to great lengths to hide that she's a girl at all, wearing boys clothes with sweaters over her shirt to help hide her chest.
But that, in a nutshell, is Tristan. Let's talk about Evangeline for a minute, shall we?
Tristan suffers from Dissociative Personality Disorder, more commonly known as Multiple Personality Disorder. Evangeline is her other personality, whom knows everything that Tristan does, but Tristan blacks out whenever Evangeline is active. DPD can also affect the muscular structure, changing the look of the face of the patient when the personality changes over. That is the case here.
Evangeline is a bit disgusted with how Tristan acts all the time. She is much more in touch with her femininity, and likes wearing dresses and high-heels and the like, if not simply more female-oriented clothing like spaghetti straps and shrugs.
She is also more outgoing, willing to go talk to people, and have people talk to her. She also has a somewhat fouler mouth, and will casually swear.
Evangeline will disappear when Tristan finally copes with the loss of her mother, and she really, really does not want to go, but at the same time, she wants Tristan to lighten the ^$@# up. This is the internal conflict that will cause Evangeline to seem distracted from time to time. Both Tristan and Evangeline, however, carry a distrust of men in groups.
Tristan has overactive feelings of abandonment. She subconsciously feels like her mother left her behind, and if her own mother could just up and desert her, than anyone else could do it, too, and even more easily. Now that she has no family nearby, and can't even live with her father and brothers, her insecurity is at its peak.
Evangeline has already gotten over this problem. As nothing more than an ill-conceived coping mechanism, her entire existence is based on the need for a part of Tristan to accept. Eva will not have exaggerated problems with jealousy, like Tristan will.

Introduction::
((Some names have been changed to protect the innocent.))Animal Shift::
Tristan Leroza Mythe was born March 14, 1990, to her father, Frederick (Fred) and her mother, Tonya, fourth of four children. She had three brothers, named Oliver, born nine years prior, Timothy, born six years prior, and Benjamin, born three years prior. They lived in Cedar Park, Illinois, where she attended a preschool. She then spent several years in a catholic school, until her loosely religious mother and strictly religious father divorced over the religion of the children, his constant smoking, among other, more minor things. During the second grade, she switched to a public school, the culture shock of which caused her grades to suffer for a semester. During second grade was also the first time she was ever alone with a boy, and they were discussing the uselessness of math as children do, when a group of bullies began to pick on the boy. Peanut. The boy cut off all relations with her, which was the first time she cried herself to sleep. After second grade. the family moved to Diamond Lake, where once again, she was immensely confused at how everything had changed. She didn't know where anything was, and was often mentally lost, trying to cope with the roiling changes since the divorce. Tristan again, attended a public school, passing with grades just high enough to be acceptable, but not high enough to be remarkable. At the time, this was her best effort, although she spent the summer after third grade practicing her study skills. Fourth grade was a mixed blessing. Her teacher was unique, asking to be referred to by her first name, and was very kind and respectful. However, because of her study habits, she got exceptional grades, which caused her to be picked on, especially by the lower GPA crowd. When she remembered how nobody noticed her when her grades were more mediocre, she caved to peer pressure and got just enough wrong on purpose to keep the hounds at bay. Discovering this kept her from getting picked on, she continued the trend through an unremarkable fifth grade and into middle school. Tristan hit puberty that summer, and was again assaulted by change from all sides. She began to notice boys, and she realized that boys were beginning to notice her. It was during the second semester that she had the traumatic experience of being cornered by a group of three eighth-grade boys and verbally harassed in a hallway with sexual language for almost a full minute before a teacher saved her. After this, she began wearing the sweaters that hid her figure and avoiding groups of boys when she was alone. When she entered seventh grade, she was so adept at hiding her femininity that even her teachers thought that she was a boy, which caused the guys around her to ignore her for the most part, so long as she kept to herself and didn't do too well on tests. The seventh and eighth grades passed without further incident, excepting that, on the day of Tristan's graduation from junior high, her mother was killed by a drunk driver on her way to the school. Hit with major change for the third time in her life, Tristan began to cope negatively by refusing to believe her mother was dead and had just gone on an overseas business trip, that she would be back someday. She went to live with her father in Condo Park, who began trying to force Catholicism down her throat. She was forced into the habit of praying before she slept. She began to black out from time to time, and sometimes came to wearing completely different, very girly clothes. Evangeline had arrived, born from her insecurities and uncertainties about the world around her. It seemed that every time she got used to something, the calm was torn from her, and as mentally fragile as she was after her mother's death, another personality emerged to deal with the stress and pain, one that could roll with the punches and go with the flow. High school was strange, in that she would black out for some classes at some times, realize she had done the work, but find that the handwriting was different. People began saying how weird she was, because sometimes she was like a totally different person. They joked that she had multiple personalities, not knowing that it was the truth. Tristan then realized she had stopeed wearing sweaters to cover her gender, and resumed doing so, much to the annoyance of Evangeline. Sophomore year, she went back to being completely unknown, and junior year passed much the same, but Evangeline had had enough. Around the middle of Senior Year, Evangeline took over in the morning, dressed as girly as possible, and intentionally caused a ruckus during lunch. Realizing she had gone overboard, she switched back to Tristan, who suddenly found herself at school, with everyone staring at her. She began to cry, curled up into a ball, and wished she could get smaller, become nothing, disappear, and opened her eyes to realize that everyone was still staring at her, but for a different reason. She was a mouse, labeling her as a "shifter." Once again, her life was thrown into chaos as she was shipped off to Variel Academy. The sudden changes all over were beginning to eat at her sanity, and Evangeline began to take over more often to give her mind a rest, although such a method of coping is harmful in the long run. She often cries herself to sleep, cursing all the changes, and especially cursing her shifting and the Academy for taking her away. She has just entered her first year, and while she was heard the names and seen the faces of several of the other characters, she has not met them yet.
Tristan shifts into a mouse, a small black, white, and brown splotched rodent. Her body shrinks first, then changes shape, nose elongating, tail stretching out, fur growing. Her clothes are left behind, however, which is yet another cause for Tristan to abhor the change.Make sure you read the rules![/font][/b]:
The mouse itself is an inch from ground to shoulder, and five inches from nose to tail. There are very thin concentric circles around her eyes of black, then brown, then black, making it look as though she is tired. Her paws are a bit stubbier than most mice, which could be due to her small size, but her tail is slightly longer, and her nose is a bit more pronounced, as well.
While she is a mouse, her personality is much the same as Tristan's normal persona. She is timid to a fault, especially afraid of men, and attempts to be completely unseen by everyone and everything she can. Her eyesight is improved, as are her sense of smell and sense of hearing. Her memory, however, suffers while she is in that form, causing her to forget things within minutes of their occurrence or having been told, and so she seems to be attention deficient. On the plus side, she is hard to see, and can gain access to places that most could not.
She has little control over her instincts, and will gnaw at things incessantly. She can not speak, in any form, while she is a mouse, as her mouth is not functional for such matters and telepathy is beyond her, being a shattered mind as she is.
Every time she becomes a mouse, Tristan spends the next week in a depression.
