Iphones in my ears, I leaned against some protective bars overlooking the bowling alleys. It was early afternoon, the best time for a good game of bowling. I came to the place wearing flare jeans that were a little loose, a comfortable tank top with many intricate lines on. My hair was to short for a proper pony tail, so I left it down. Brushing against my shoulders as it was put behind my ears, the cord from the i phones led down to my waist. Were you could find an Ipod with a Van Gogh Sticker in a case. The case was clipped to my pocket, and I leaned against the rail humming Shh by Frou Frou.
I smirked suddenly, looking to my watch. It was.. About three in the afternoon and the guy called Chase was no were in sight, 'What the hell am I waiting here for. God knows if he's really gonna come out here with some chick.' I thought, my eyes giving a brief roll. Like I had written in the IM messages, if he had a girl, I'd leave them alone. But that all depended on what he looked like. Letting out a sigh, I let my hand stray through my silky hair. It fell down to my shoulders, and I wondered exactly why I was here.
'Ever the more the thinker I always seem to be...' I mused, my lips curling up halfly in a sarcastic smile like the Cheshire cat. Really, I was kinda gettin a pain in my heart thinking that the guy upped and forgot me. 'I don't take kindly to guys who suggest something, then leave.' I smirked at myself, well rather, my own thoughts. Watching several groups get good scores, I went up to the counter. The gal there looked at me with a "what the hell do you want" look. I smiled calmly, asking, "Can I rent some shoes that are size... nine in women's?" The gal nodded, grabbing the shoes and giving them to me. Saying in a rough tone, "That'll be ten bucks."
God what a snob she was. Grabbing a tend dollar bill from my wallet in my back pockets, I gave it too her. Walking over to a table that still overlooked the bowling alleys, I put on the shoes. Looking in my wallet, I realized I only had a twenty left. 'Damnit. What am I gonna do now. I can't just leave having rent shoes and didn't bowl. That'd be as bad as window shopping at a restaurant.' I thought deeply about what I was to do. If anything, the chase guy should come with some money. It is the bowling alley after all, student or not.
I hated getting refunds for being a student when everyone else had to pay the regular fee, that felt... Outrageous to me. After I finished putting on my shoes, I put my arm on the table and rested my head in my hand. Tapping my feet along the ground, I watched the bowlers with a bored expression. Looking back to the entrance once or twice, I didn't see anyone whatsoever that seemed like a guy named Chase. Or rather, a guy who held himself in a posture like a tiger. A few guys came down the steps, one of them looked very... Well. Vain.
"Peacock" I said to myself, looking over to another person. This one held himself like a thief, in fact, he was sneakily pickpocketing someone right now. "Rat or... Weasel? Either one.." With this way of entertaining myself, I slowly fended off the boredom. Though waiting is always a boring thing. Now here came a gal who held herself like she was the top of the world. And I immediately said, "Lioness. Maybe a cocky Skunk, but most definitely a feline of some sort." The girl had long hair and she looked at me like I was some kind of prey, I smiled back. Acting naturally like the fox that was inside of me.
The girl raised her head, cocked it to the side and said "Hmph!" And tromped off into the arcade. I snickered, 'an idiot who does that will fail in life.' I though to myself. Now just watching the entrance in general. "Where oh where did the tiger go. Oh where oh where can he be?" I hummed to myself. Still rather bored with all this nonsense.

Well, the weather had not cooperated as well as Chase had hoped. What was hardly a sprinkle when they left the dorm had turned back into a downpour, leaving the two with only their jackets. Chase ran up to the door to the activity enter, and used all of his might to pull it open against the frigid winter wind. He allowed Corri to walk into the warmth of the building, then followed closely behind. The boy and girl were both soaked to the bone, and Chase, at least, was shivering. He pulled off his jacket, watching as water dripped off and fell onto the hard floor below him.
He walked over to Corri, placing his hand slightly on her lower back, just above her pants. He stepped ahead of her, making his way towards the counter. "Men's fourteens, please." After speaking, he stepped out of the way so that Corri could get her shoes, and then his blue eyes began searching the alley. He remembered the girl he had spoken to earlier in the day on the internet - Ivy was her name, right? They were supposed to meet here, and he hoped that she hadn't been waiting long. Finally, he spotted a girl sitting alone in one of the lanes, and had the feeling that it was who he was looking for. He hoped that Corri wouldn't be upset that there was another girl here...its not like he had planned for the day to go this way.
Chase was snapped back to the counter as the clerk's annoyed voice rang through his ears. "SIR...Your total is THIRTY DOLLARS," she uttered for the third time. What in the world? Why was it so expensive? "Thirty dollars? Are you sure?" The clerk scoffed, and rolled her eyes. "Yes, $10 for your shoes, $10 for hers, and $10 for a lane for an hour." It was at that moment that Chase realized he was in the process of paying for Corri...well, obviously, it had just been blatantly smacked across his face. He hadn't actually thought about paying for her, which made it seem more like a date. But, Ivy was here as well...so it wasn't really a date. But, whatever, the clerk behind the counter had already given him the total, and he didn't want to upset her even more by making her recalculate the price, nor did he want to seem rude towards Corri. So, he gave the clerk $30, then led Corri over to their lane.
As the two walked up to Ivy, Chase smiled, and quietly, so not to create a startle, addressed her. "Ivy, right?" Chase stuck out his hand. "I'm Chase, and this is Corri. Sorry we took so long, the weather has not been our friend today." The boy laughed, since his soaked body made it quite obvious that they had not had the best of luck. He turned to Corri, "Corri, this is Ivy. I made plans this morning for her to join us..." Though he did not directly say it, he hope that his eyes reassured the girl, letting her know that there was nothing for her to be worried or jealous about - if that was the case.

Corrina enjoyed running from place to place in the rain with Chase. She actually laughed as they rain, splashing through small streams that ran down the neatly paved streets. It was a fairly quick jog since they both had a bit of adrenilin running from earlier. To bad it didn't happen. Would have been a nice escape. But awkward after it was all over. Now they would be in a more comfortable enviornment. The public! No doing the dirty here...as far as she was concerned. As they reached the door, Chase held it open and Corri walked in, smiling at Chase in thanks for holding the door. Such a gentleman. When Chase's hand gently touched Corri's lower back, she felt tingles spread up her spine. A smile appeared on her face as they approached the counter. She let chace get his shoes and then she got hers. "Womens 8 please." She spoke softly, smiling at the lady. As she barked out the price to Chase, his reply caused Corri to raise an eyebrow, but she wasn't looking at him so he wouldn't be able to see. She would pay him back. Cash or other payment. He wouldn't regret paying for her.
As the lady handed them their shoes, Corri instinctively followed Chase as he approached a girl that sat on one of the benches. He spoke to her. He obviously knew her. What did Corri expect? That he didn't have friends? Nah, she knew he was a likable guy. As he glanced slightly at her, she smiled and nodded. She would try her best not to get jealous. She simply smiled at the girl. No need to shake hands. No need to say hello. She had already been introduced so no need to do that either. Instead, while the girl responded to Chase, Corri took a seat and slid her bowling shoes on, watching the girls reaction in ashtonishment.

"For God sakes, I was waiting here for a whole hour! Talk about lack of time management. I am Ivy though. So you guessed right." I was fairly pissed off at the guy, I mean. Weather my ass! He could have gotten here BEFORE it got bad. But then again, as I cast an easy glance towards the girl he had hold of a few minutes ago... It made a bit more sense. I narrowed my eyes and a sarcastic grin came onto my lips. Just by judging my body language, you could tell that I felt about ready to rant.
But instead, I jumped out of the chair and smiled. I was a little shorter than chase, and if anything if his girl wasn't around. I wouldn't be willing to try this. But with a gentle swing I patted his cheek. The smile still on my lips, I chuckled. Trotting and jumping down the steps that led to the bowling alley. Looking down the isles, I looked back up to Chase. "Which one's ours Tiger Boy?" I yelled out. Tiger Boy would be his nickname from now on.
My shoes still in hand, I tapped my foot along the floor. He didn't seem to be moving, maybe talking to his girl friend. I sighed, turning my back on them for a brief moment. But then, I smirked again. The fox within me always tended to leak out like this. I walked back up the steps, grabbed onto Chase's arm. And started to drag him down to the alleys. Near the steps, I let go of him and jumped back down with an amazing agility. Looking up at him, I felt quite excited for once since coming here. I brushed my hair away from my shoulders briefly, my eyes drifting over to the girl.
Chase said her name was Corri. Which meant it stood for something much uglier than that, no matter what parents said, they always chose the weirdest names. There was no doubt that she would be slightly ticked off, there was always someone who got ticked off from the fox. Whether it be the lion, the frog, or the leopard. I smiled at her general direction. Turning to look at Chase directly in the eye, I put my hands on my hips. Leaning forward into his face, I said in a slightly hyper tone, "Lane Lane, which one is our lane? You bought it right? So you should know."
My voice was all sing song, but that was because I was excited. And I normally got excited when it came to bowling. Or any easy sport that doesn't require a tone of moving actually. I relaxed, leaning on my right foot and in a much better posture. I calmly looked Tiger-boy up and down, he was much cuter than expected. 'But he has a girlfriend. Can't get to close, seeing as she's already a bit mad at me.' I wondered what made them delay and I smirked, thinking fairly dirty thoughts.
I raised my arms up into the air as if yawning, then saw an empty lane with a light above it. The light was on, and all the other lanes seemed to be off. So finding the lane for once, I dashed over to it. Standing in front of the machine like a puppy. I typed in Chase's name first, then Corri's and then my own. Course, it always felt uncomfortable when I had my name on the screen. With this done, I clicked enter. It said Chase was up first, but I scanned the isles for a bowling ball to use.
I found a seven pound blue ball, and put it on the rack. Leaning on it ever so slightly as I waited for the other two to come over to the lane. Apparently, I managed to pick the right lane, seeing as it would be quite embarrassing if I didn't. I let out a sigh, they were soooo sloowww. But I waited patiently enough, finally taking a seat in one of the chairs.

Chase took a step away from the girl as she spoke, her rude tone turning Chase off immediately. Really now? If this is how she was going to act, he and Corri didn't have to stay on this lane. But, she seemed to lighten up, and with a strange pat on the face, she bobbled ahead of the two, with her nickname of 'Tigerboy' ringing through the bowling alley. Chase gave a quick glance to Corri and laughed, then followed after Ivy with a roll of his eyes. "Lane seven, the one that's lit up over there." But before he could take another step, the girl grabbed him by the arm, pulling him away. Quickly, he reached for Corri behind him, and was barely able to take her own arm to lead her on. Finally, Ivy let go, and hopped down the stairs, then turned towards them, getting right into Chase's face. "...Twelve..." he said, in a dry, drawn out tone. If she kept this up, her annoying attitude was going to drive Chase away. Why was she acting like this? She had seemed so much nicer on the phone.
Finally, they made it to their lane, and Ivy had already put their names in, with Chase up first. He walked over to the ball rack, taking a 15 pound ball for himself. Turning to Corri, he asked which size she would like, then carried both of the balls over to the ball return on their lane. "Ok well, I guess I'm starting..." After quickly putting on his shoes, Chase popped up, and took his ball in both hands. Carefully, he stuck his thumb, middle and ring finger in the large holes, and aligned his feet at the first line of dots on the floor. He took three, even steps forward, then flung the ball in a straight line down the alley. It curved a bit, but the momentum of the ball caused the flying pins to crash into each other, giving Chase and early strike.
He turned around, smiling, then shrugged his shoulders. "You're next, Corri." Chase went and sat down on the chair next to Ivy, and though his eyes were on Corri, he still managed to speak to Ivy - he didn't want this all to be awkward now. "So Ivy, you shift into a fox? What's that like?" But then, Chase's part of the conversation was put on pause as he noticed Corri's posture as she prepared to throw the ball. He remembered that she hadn't gone bowling before, so he stood and walked over to her. "Here, use these fingers..." gently, he manipulated her fingers into the holes, "...and put your arm like this..." he extended her arm out to her side, running against her leg. He held her wrist straight, with her palm facing down the alley. "Now, just throw right down those arrows, and keep your arm and wrist straight, don't curve it to the side..." At that point, he stepped back, returning to his seat next to Ivy.

Corrina's mouth must have dropped as the girl started bitching. Oh you have got to be kidding me. There was no way they were friends. Maybe they knew eachother, but no way would she treat a friend like that so what gave this girl the right to do so? She seemed to have a mood swing as she bounced up out of her seat and gripped Chase's arm and pulled him off. Chase glanced back at Corrina and reached out to grab her hand, but she pulled away, retreating from him with a look for horror on her face. She wasn't mad. Just appauled that this girl was being such a....freak. Realizing that she may have hurt Chase's feelings she walked after them and stood slightly behind him as the girl got into his face to speak. Corri caught the smile Ivy sent in her direction. Ivy. Poison Ivy? Pfft. Corrina rolled her eyes and walked up to stand beside Chase, taking his hand in hers and smiling calmly at the girl as if she and Chase were the king and queen and this lowly pesant had come to request a share of their riches. D E N I E D.
Finally the girl hurried off to get a ball and take a seat. Corri told Chase she wanted an 8 pound ball and as kind as he was, he went and got it for her. She smiled as he bowled his turn then told her that she was up. She smiled and shrugged at him as she walked past him. "Here goes nothin!" She picked up the ball and tried her best to hold it the way it seemed right...but it wasn't right. It was way off. Corrina turned around to ask Chase for help when she heard him question Ivy. A fox....Corri knew a fox. And she hated the little bitch. So far..she didn't like this chick either. Coincidence?
Chase realized before she even asked that she needed help. She smiled sweetly at him as he approached her to help out. She wasn't one of those prissy girls who acted pathetic in order to get the hot guys attention. She didn't need that. She just needed to know how to do this and then she would be on her own. She let Chase manipulate her fingers and move her arm around so she was just right. He was slightly leaning over her to help and before he could walk back to sit, she pressed her lips to his. She didn't want it to end, but it had to. Corri broke it softly and smiled up at him. "Thanks." With that, she gave a go at bowling. Not that good. Only hit 4 pins, but at least she didn't get a gutter ball. Another throw and she hit all of the rest except for one. Oh well. She turned and shrugged as she walked to where Chase and Ivy sat. "Your turn." She said flattly with a weak smile. Stupid fox.

I watched how he got slightly annoyed, and his question was fairly simple. "Yeah. You can pretty much tell." I chuckled, feeling less jittery and much more calmer now. Looking at Chase, I said. "Being a fox is fun, like I said before, it's easy to play tricks and taunt the regular people." My oh my, they were definitely going out. And that little stunt back there of dragging him wasn't exactly in favor of either of the two. They weren't exactly the fun loving type huh? Well, it was to be expected from two formerly popular kids to be sent down the barracks. I was lost in my thoughts when I heard a ball rolling down the lane. I didn't look up to see what score Corri got, I was to concerned about my own thoughts.
Chase before got an early strike, he definitely seemed like the jock kind of guy. But he seemed nicer than that, if anything a bit shyer. Speaking of shyer, the once outgoing aura that I held seemed to diminish like a match burning out. I watched in silence, my eyes growing a tad bit darker from the fluorescent lights. But then I realized it was my turn and got up, grabbing my blue bowling ball, I put in my middle and ring finger into the two front slots. Thumb in the back as pops taught me. I wasn't a supreme bowler, in fact as I held the ball up to my chest I smirked.
Making a good take off, I let go of the ball smoothly. It sailed down the aisle, hitting 6 pins. I smiled, pleased to the fact that I actually made a good hit. I walked over to my seat and sat down, if anything, I was much calmer than usual. Whenever it came to bowling I acted like an annoying shell of myself, and that was never very good in any case.
Looking to the girl called Corri, I asked. "As you probably heard, I'm a fox." A sneaky smirk for a flash of a second appeared on my lips. "What about you? What's your shift?" For some reason, her voice was familiar. And it bugged me, but I pushed it away. The one who had that voice was a panther, and heaven knows how many god damned panthers there were in this place. That also attributed to foxes. I had to admit, having ran into a fox shifter before. The guy was a lot like me, sneaky, tricky, and fairly untrustworthy.
The way Chase's girlfriend held herself also annoyed me, she was acting like the panther of all things. And one things for sure, if she lost her man... The girl would definitely be pissed off. I wouldn't put it past her actually. I looked up at the screen, thus far.. Chase was in the lead. It was Corri's turn next, and then my own. Corri really seemed to fail at bowling actually, if Chase wasn't here to help... I wonder who would.
Of course, when it came to strangers like Chase and Corri... I always had a line of defenses set up. My thoughts wavered for a bit, remembering the way she held Chase as if he was the king and she was the queen. God that really ticked me off somehow. Hierarchy was gone, and to say you were better than others meant you were the dirt on the ground in all truths. As pops had told me before, 'The king with no men will always fall.' In this case, it would rather be: 'The queen with no money is just a worthless scumbag.' A dark smirk formed on my lips at the thought.
They say fox's are dumb, and tend to runaway when the situation get's too tough. But in truth, if you runaway you can fight another day. So, fox's are more overcautious and careful beings. And frankly, I liked that sense of style. I watched and waited, contemplating what Corri had said in reply to my question. Cause you can always lie, but that gets you no were when it comes to a fox.

"Good job!" Chase exclaimed as Corri got all but one pin down on her second try. Corri came to join Chase on the seat and the two watched as Ivy had her turn. Chase smiled and gave a clap as the pins fell - she was better at this than Corri, that wasn't a lie, but who cared? As long as they had fun. As Chase got up to bowl again, he watched the two girls out of the corner of his eye, his keen ears listening closely to the tone of their conversation. Something was strange about them, almost as if they knew each other...without knowing it. It was rather silly, actually - it was clear that Ivy fancied Chase, and the two girls were moving dangerously close to each other's throats. He let out a sigh as he threw his second ball, since he had not gotten down all the pins on his first try, and got the same as Corri had done - all but one.
He walked back towards the girls casually, trying to think of a way to break the mood. It was hard, being in this position - he had never felt so trapped between two people before, it was actually a bit frightening. Briefly interrupting their conversation, Chase cleared his throat. "How about a drink? Maybe it'd help all of us loosen up..." In normal society, they were all underage, and would never be able to get their hands on a drop of alcohol. But here, at the Variel Academy, they were not outlawed from different things - they were just expected to make their own, righteous decisions. They were supposed to learn what was best for them, what they could handle, and what their weaknesses were, so they were allowed to drink at this age.
Chase walked over to the bar, ordered drinks, and returned to the two girls. He bought the common brand of beer that most people in town seemed to like...hopefully the girls were fine with beer. He took his own drink in his hand and downed it rather quickly, waiting for the next one up to bowl.

So this girl was obviously oblivious to the fact that I didn't really want to talk to her. She didn't appeal to me at all. In fact, her presence seemed to make the hair on the back of my neck stick up. There was something about that annoying little voice. And as a question was directed in my direction, I couldn't help but glare at her before calming myself and holding my head high as I replied. "A panther. And damn am I proud." I couldn't help myself but smirk. "Must suck to be such a small ball of fluff. The smaller the head the smaller the brain." Now I laughed, right out loud. Right in front of her. Foxes were lying little bitches. Panthers wernt afraid to say what they wanted to say. Chase probably didn't think to well of Corri now that she showed a rather harsh side to her. Maybe he wouldn't mind to much. Hopefully not. The girl obviously thought she and Chase were dating. Nah. But Corri wanted it. She wanted it bad. You can't rush things though, so she didn't push. As Chase finished up his turn, Corrina smiled at him as well as Ivy. "My turn again." She didn't have to fake a smile now. Just the fact that she got out what she wanted to say about the girl made her happy. Plus the fact that the girl seemed a little jealous maybe? Ha. Sucks for her!
Before Corri picked up the ball to bowl again, she heard Chase ask if they wanted drinks. She smiled and nodded. "Sure. Thanks!" She then walked passed him, picking up the 8 pound ball on her way down to the land. With a drin she bowled as Chase had showed her. 7 pins down. Not bad! Another go? Yes please! The clearing machine dropped down and brushed the fallen pins back into the system as Corrina bowled again. Yes! A spare. She turned and walked back to where Chase stood with the drinks, her grin directed right at Ivy. "I like this game." She said with a devious smile. It was like the alcohol hit her before it hit her. A swig of beer would fix that. Aaaahhh....

Wow. She was deffinetly trying to make me slap her. Really trying huh? In fact, I was almost itching too. But I breathed a sigh of relief, when Chase offered drinks I was about to say no. But he went off anyways, I certainly did hate the taste of wine. Let alone bear. To bitter for my taste buds, in fact when he held the bear glass out to me I calmly shook my head. "No thanks, I don't drink." I watched Corri say she was a panther and immediately it clicked. She was the stuck up kitten who tried to kill me a few days ago, and I was sitting all nice and pretty under this verbal abuse.
Ode to joy on how much I wanted to kick her ass right now.
Sitting in the chair, perfectly relaxed. I let her laugh in my face. If anything, that wasn't exactly true. "So... a T-rex is huge, but it has a small brain. I don't see were your logic works on that." Sure it wasn't a brilliant come back, but it was enough to make panther girl pissed off. In fact, I made a bet with myself. 'I bet that by the end of today, that Corri girl and I will both be covered by bruises.' My face remained blank, though I was smiling cruelly inside.
'Ah, but the play has not yet begun.' I thought sinisterly in my mind. A curtain, of course, was drawn in my mind. Making my previously known emotions unknown. And like I would say what I really felt to you anyways. With this first defense, only someone who knew me better than being a bit bitchy would see through it.
I smiled calmly now, my eyes watching Corri easily. Having read her eyes and body language, I could tell that she was very proud of being high up on the food chain. 'She ain't higher than a bear though.' I thought to myself. I stood up, grabbing my ball. Making my way up to the starting point, I put my fingers in the holes. There was a surge of energy as I took off, letting the ball go smoothly once again.
As it rolled down the aisle, I watched tensely. It was a split. Two on each side. "Shoot." I muttered, not at all pleased with the shot in general. Going back to grab the ball I waited for a moment. It was a tense atmosphere considering the idiot panther was here. I kinda felt bad for Tiger boy. Having to go out with this freak of former popularity.
Behind the curtain, I was slightly bummed out that I had to make that shot again. It seemed quite impossible from my perspective, but as soon as the blue ball came up I grabbed it. Inserting my fingers, and walked out to the starting point again. Too much was on my mind to be focused, but in the end I got one pin down. I let out a sigh, deciding to sit across from the couple to let them be close.
In all truth, I didn't want to smell their alcohol-tainted breath. Smoking was hard enough on me, but alcohol? Yeah, that wouldn't be good either. Besides, I wanted to live a long trouble free life. But the way today looked.. I had a long ways to go...
Letting out a sigh, I tapped the arm of the chair with my fingers. In truth, I was anticipating what Chase then Corri would get. So far, it was still plainly true that I kind of failed at bowling. My body language gave off the perception of being bored. As did my eyes. But like said before, fox's are untrustworthy. And as the profoundness of a panther leak into Corri, the un-trustworthiness of a fox leaked into me.
I ignored her devious smile with a wave of my hand, as if a fly had somehow buzzed around my head and annoyed me. I did that alot when ignoring someone, that was the truth for once. I stayed quiet through most of the game, watching Chase and Corri bowl before it was my turn again. But such was life, a never ending circle of madness.

I shrugged as Ivy admitted that she didn't drink, and pulled her cup over to me, drinking that one as well. As one of the waiters - or bartenders - or workers - whatever they were called - walked by, I motioned them over, ordering even drinks for Corri and I. Again, I drank another glass of beer, allowing the cool, frothy liquid to slide gently down ,my throat. It had been a while since I had any alcohol - back at home, my father would occasionally give me a beer or two on special occasions, you know, it was a father-son thing. Before long, I began feeling better about the situation. The confrontation between the two girls drifted away, and I casually leaned back in my chair.
As we took turns bowling, Corri seemed to grow better and better at the game. She took my advice to heart, making careful note of everything before she threw the ball. I was still in the lead, but again, bowling wasn't just technique - strength could really help where technique failed. I got up once more for my turn, stumbling a bit over the chair as I did so. With a chuckle, I walked up and picked up my ball, then turned around, facing the girls. "Let's see how this works..." I grinned, then preceded to roll the ball quickly between my words. I stayed bent over, watching the ball in a world turned upside down. It was much slower than my previous throws, and drifted way off to the right - my first gutterball so far. I laughed as I picked up the ball again. "Lets try something else, seeing as that didn't work out very well..." I gripped the ball, then pulled my arm back. But instead of throwing it in a straight light, I lifted up my leg, and pretty much tossed the ball under it, sending it flying down the lane. It crashed into the pins, and knocked down three of them. Well, at least it was something.
However, as I returned to my seat, Ivy still seemed to be a bit upset, or at least annoyed with Corri. "Hey, lighten up. Yall are both my friends - at least I'd like the two of yall to be...so can we please just try to get along?" I was obviously leaning towards the drunk side of the line, but I still knew what I was doing - my actions and speech were just a tab more slurred than normal. Though the girl sitting next to me seemed to be rude, I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt - her first impression over the internet had been good, and while it was the internet, I still kept it in mind. Hopefully, the girl would shape up a bit. She was pretty, to say the least, and in my nearing-drunk state, I felt as though my last comment to her confirmed that Corri and myself were not dating, but just friends. The reasonable, more mature and calm-minded Chase was away for the moment, and I could not really process the fact that I did, in fact, want Corri to be more than just a friend. But with two girls somewhat 'fighting' over you, with three beers already in your system, good judgment began to diminish.

Another comment from the fox chick? I paused for a moment, the beer bottle pressed to my lips. As she denied the drink I smirked to myself. I wasn't much for getting drunk or high, but I loved parties and anything that had to do with them. Plus, Chase would look after me if I was drunk..right? So the comment. As she finished talking I took another long swig of the bitter drink. Pulling it from my mouth I let out a sigh and shook my head smiling. This girl just set herself up for even more verbal abuse. Even when people denied the fact that it hurt them, deep down it made an affect. Everyone knew this. "T-rex's are also extinct. Gone. D. E. A. D. Us panthers have been endangered forever but because were smart, we manage to stick around." Now came the fox part. They were far from endangered. Not threatened either. "You foxes are running out of places to hide. Your brains seem to only register sex. Like rabbits. Sex...and running away." Another smirk and a swig of my beer. Pure. Gold. All Corri hoped was that Chase wouldn't totally hate her for bashing or attempting to bash on this girl. She didn't want him to think negitively of her. That would suck...
Obviously he didn't much care what the hell came out of her mouth at this point because of the beer that entered his system. Not much but for someone who didn't drink all that much, it was enough to do it. Corrina turned away from the girl, ignoring her overall existance for a moment or so as she watched Chase attempt to do good. F A I L U R E. Corrina couldn't help but laugh and roll her eyes at his sorry attempt. Oh well. At least he didn't totally fail. She was, unlike him, still slightly normal. Just as she was about to take another drink and go bowl, Chase's words were heard. She raised an eyebrow but said nothing. Instead, took out her annoyance on the bottle and downed even more until there was one last swig left. Corrina set the bottle down and sighed as she turned away from the two and picked up her ball. The buzzing in her head began to pick up a bit but she pushed it away. Beer generally made her a bit angry, but she could control it. She set up and released the ball. Strike..x!
With a smile she walked back to the group and picked up her beer, drink the last bit of it. "Beer does a girl good on occasion." She smiled and leaned against the table, gazing at Chase with a devious look.

Yeah... No. The way Chase acted definitely told me he was a lightweight. I mean, three drinks and your already drunk. That's pretty light. I would know cause I've gotten drunk a fair amount of times before quitting altogether. The alcohol made me puke, and I hated the feeling of everything spinning. Something definitely told me that this was definitely not gonna be good. In fact, after seeing Chase get drunk... I was very tempted to leave. 'Boy, he's gonna have a crash tomorrow...' I thought. Online, he seemed a bit more... friendly. But this drunkenness really turned me off.
As a friend, I wanted to go say no to the waiter... But you never get a drunk angry. Cause they will hit you with god knows what. I let out a sigh, the beer scent was climbing into my nose. And I really did not want to be around Corri when she became drunk. I watched Corri bowl with ease. She was much better drunk, no doubt about it. Definitely much better.
Wow. I mean seriously. Just... Wow. Corri seemed to be a bit sharper, if not prone to be the "I'll keel you!" Sort of drunk types. In fact, if she didn't hurl a beer bottle at me in a few minutes. I'd be surprised. The way Chase spoke was all slurry, and Corri seemed a bit dipsy too. And what was with her comeback? All foxes think of are sex? And panther's are smarter? Oooh. I really felt like pissing her off. In fact, I decided too. "Well. If panther's are so smart. Tell me why they tend to be extinct. It's more rather that panther's get run over by tractors and shot by huntsmen for fun nowadays." I smirked, letting the harsh whip of my words sink into her now drunk mind. Personnaly, I prefer an apple martini over plain old beers.
Now that we had done at least four sets, I stood up looking Corri straight in the face. Kind of glad that I was standing on the other side of the bowling ball deposit. "There's more than one reason to why panther's are almost extinct and rabbits aren't. Same goes for foxes. But frankly, I don't feel like telling you much cept for this." I stopped saying something, turning my head sharply to look up the steps. Feeling my back pocket, I felt a very careful hand there. Turning around sharply, I realized it was rat boy.
The guy seemed to smile weakly and I said in a very poisonous tone that was completely unlike my character, "Try to do that again. And you'll be knocked straight across the aisle." The rat boy seemed let out a muffled eep and scurried off, my eyes following after him with a murderous intent. I clenched my fist, slightly wishing for a kind of gun to hold. With these two, it would be useful should Corri want to try knocking me out. But after that fall from the cliff.. I'm fairly sure I can handle a punch or two.
Realizing I still had to go, I picked up my bowling ball. Rolling it much smoother this time, missing only one pin. Second try, I got a spare. With the focus from bowling ball running through my mind, I did not see what Chase was doing. But, I managed to move out of the lane should he try to hit me with a bowling ball. 'Anyone would get knocked out by that. Not just me alone.' This made me remember that I wasn't invincible, nor did I have any cool technique other than kickboxing, gymnastics, and a bit of ballet.
Letting out a sigh, I returned to the seat across the deposit from the two. Hell if I cared that they started to make out, the storm was just beginning. And something definitely told me it was going to get worse no matter how much I liked it.
My eyes scanned the two, and they held a small bit of curiosity. Thus I asked them a casual question. "If you guys aren't going out... Then what do you mean to each other?" My face was curious but I snickered on the inside, such drunk fools. But then again, the more drunk she got... The better at none-athletic sports she became. So, my guard was up constantly. Seeing as I did not feel like getting beat up today.

"Girls please, all this bickering is giving me a headache..." I leaned over, grasping my forehead with a rough hand, rubbing it gently. Some might've thought it was the alcohol, but this headache had started before my drinking - it was definitely from the girls. All of this drama was not my style, and being stuck in the middle of it was definitely not my cup of tea. I then watched as Ivy stepped up to bowl, uttering a few snide remarks to the boy in the lane next to us. "Whoa Ivy, just calm down...no need to be angry, especially at him. Can't either of you just be a little mature and be civil? Or at least ignore each other..." The latter part of my little speech was directed at Ivy and Corri, not the rat boy next door. Honestly, even Corri's attitude was a bit much, though I felt as though I owed her more since we knew each other better...kindof.
I sat down once more with Ivy in the chairs across from us. I felt sortof bad, I didn't want to upset her or make her feel uncomfortable with alcohol. We weren't going to do anything stupid, we were just letting loose a bit. But then, Ivy asked a question directed at Corri and me. It was a rather odd question, one that keyed me in to her possible interest in me. "What do we mean to each other?" I looked at Corri sitting next to me, one of my thick brows raised. "We just met this morning, so its hard to say really. What more can one be than friends upon first meeting?" He felt as though it was a reasonable answer. It was the truth - the two had just met, and they wanted to get to know each other before starting a deeper relationship. And for Ivy, well, maybe she'd be a bit more at ease knowing that Chase hadn't known Corri much longer than he had known Ivy.

Great. This is just great. Stupid fox girl thinks she can get the better of me by making stupid ass remarks toward me while I'm slightly drunk? I don't think so. Anger was building. She better watch herself. As she spoke first, Corrina just stood there, emotionless. She didn't react to anything she said. She just watched as she bowled. The comment about there being more then one reason as to why my shift was becomming extinct went to far. And the fact that she picked with random people didn't do her any good either. As she turned to walk back to Chase, I reached down and grabbed the 15 pound ball, holding it slightly back as if I was going to smash her skull in with it. "You're so fucking stupid. Mock me in fox form. Mock me in human form. What a bitch." Speachless. "Keep to your fucking self or I'll smash this thing through your skull." Yeah. Drunk. And very angry.
As Chase spoke up about them, Corrina hit the limit. With a frustrated sigh she released the ball, pushing it away from her and turning on her heals to walk past the two of them. The ball hit the wood floor with a smash, breaking it. Corrina giggled lightly at the feeling of adrenilin. Dropping her guard, she tripped a little walking up the steps. Another giggle but as the lady at the desk yelled at her to pay for it, her anger returned. "I didn't drop it. Ivy did. She'll be paying for it." And with that Corrina was gone. No way could or would she stick around with that bitch. Her and Chase could have their fun now or later. Hopefully later, because Corrina really wanted him to follow her. But whatever. She needed to sleep it off. One thing is for sure, no more fox girl.

Oh god. I was definitely right about her going to throw a punch. She was much more stupid than she really looked. Considering the fact that she had dropped the ball and broke the wooden floor, I didn't need to say anything. But I looked to Chase, slightly concerned. "Got any money on you? I only have ten bucks." Drunk or not, I needed some more money than just ten dollars. In fact, an idea struck me. Granma had always invested money into my bank account, and I had my credit card.
I watched Corri go off, and frowned slightly. An angry drunk. Oh joy. Looking back to Chase I calmly said, "Look. If you like the girl go after her. But before you do. Lend me some cash, cause otherwise we're gonna be in huge trouble." The lady came down and seemed really pissed off at Corri. In fact, she signaled to her other workers to go fetch the girl. The young lady came up to me, she seemed calm enough for a good conversation. She asked me if I could repair wooden floors. Seeing as it was her first time on the job and she didn't want to get fired.
I knew what that felt like, so I gave a brief shrug. And I managed to ask, "You know where an ATM is? I'm fairly sure that at least 150 dollars will cover it." I felt sorry for the girl, if only the stupid panther hadn't been to idiotically rash. I had a bad control of my shift, but a better control on my emotions apparently. I signaled to the bar tender, calling out to him, "Apple Martini Please!" Screw the no alcohol crap. This drama from miss I-want-center-of-attention was getting to me. Luckily, I wasn't such a light weight and could drink something like this easily.
The bartender brought over the martini and I smiled kindly, giving a brief nod in thanks. Putting the ten dollar bill on the tray the man said, 'I'll be back with your change.' I gave a brief shrug before saying in reply, "Nah. Keep it. You've done more than enough for the place." I was never the one for math anyways, so this would cover the tip too. The woman looked to me, slightly concerned. She then started to say that the ATM was in the arcade, I nodded going off in the general direction but stopping suddenly. Looking back to Chase, I said, "You know. Drunk or not. You don't really deserve that witch of a cat."
I smirked, my foxy nature showing plain in sight. I sprinted off to the ATM, having saved up all the money that I had gotten... I pulled out a hefty hundred fifty dollars. Running back, I let out a sigh of relief. The girl was looking at the damage done, and I winced slightly. It wasn't that bad, but the wood had broken. And that would pay a bit.
Nudging the girl gently with my foot, I gave her the 150. She gasped, saying in a surprised tone, 'What?! No, No I can't take THIS much! That's bound to be all that you've saved up till now!' I shook my head, smiling kindly down to her. "Nah. The pits need a bit refreshing anyways. Even if it's just one aisle." The girl just sorta... stood there. Totally overwhelmed at the generous nature that I had just shone. Casting my glance over to the direction Corri had gone, I was fairly prepared to find her either standing behind me with a bowling ball or something else of that manner.
See kiddies, in the end, you can never outwit a few foxes.
I let out a sigh, the girl was gone, I had evacuated from the aisle way and came back up the steps. Giving back my shoes, and resting at a table. Checking my watch, I realized that it was around 5. "Gah. So much time lost..." I told myself. I don't know why, but the incident with the floor got people talking. Some were badmouthing Corri for destroying the bowling pits. A few small portion of others were talking about how much I had in my bank. And then a lot of people had left too.
All in all. A good day's work. But in truth, I had to wonder if Tigerboy was still here. My cheeks turned a pale red at the thought of what Corri would be doing to him right now. And I looked around with keen eyes. So far, I couldn't see Corri anywhere. And that was fairly good on my point. I wanted to be spared that kind of effort when it comes to her.
ooc;; word count:: 808 comments:: XD I can't tell if Corri left or not. So Chase is pretty much free to do whatever in this situation. XD[/blockquote]
